# Consonant style listening set

The scratch = stops/fricatives as broadband noise bursts. Treatments:

Round 1: current (flagged) | A softened bursts (still scratchy) |
B tract-colored (vocal clicks) | C tonal (pleasant, consonant-less)

Round 2 (class-specific cues): D locus glides (place via formant
trajectory) | E closure+microprosody (stops = silence + f0 dip) |
F pitch-synced breath (fricatives pulse at f0)

COMPOSITES (per-class stacks, real-speech layering):
- G — stops: closure + soft tract release tick + glide + f0;
  fricatives: breath + glide; sonorants: tonal base
- H — G without any noise (no tick, no breath; insurance)

Lever: consonantStyle in phonemes.ts, default still 'current' until
the owner picks.
