# Singing Chasms · The Singing Stone v3a — pad-choir ambiance (faithful) `windcaves-chorus-v3a` — levels: `calm.mp3` · `activity1.mp3` · `activity2.mp3` · `danger1.mp3` · `danger2.mp3` Take A is the faithful, polished reading of the row's pad-choir ambiance (E mixolydian, 78 BPM). The thesis is LISTENING — the cave as a choir you walk through. The 'pitched air' is PITCHED PAD/CHOIR voices, NOT airPad noise: three `airVoice` voices on ROOT/FIFTH/OCTAVE (E/B/E) swelling INDEPENDENTLY like drafts (their onsets offset so the chord breathes — no two crest together), with a `choirPad` body holding the colour tone (the third/fifth) so the air reads as a CHORD, not hiss. airVoice is a tonal detuned pair with a faint breath layer — its noisiness sits well under the noise-bed threshold, so the cave's air is pitched material, never a noise loop (correction 3). The sub touches once per two bars. `sparse: true`: long air swells with intentional space. No piano part (correction 1: the row names choir/air + celesta, not piano — so there is no struckPiano and certainly no feltPiano). Activity L1 (ch4-5) is the `caveCelesta` DUET WITH THE CAVE: a structured call/answer line that doubles whichever air voice is cresting then steps away (the call rises off the cresting tone and opens; the answer falls through the mixolydian b7 (D) and settles toward E), plus a soft-pluck echo trail kept in register. Activity L2 (ch6-7) ADDS new material, not volume: a `choirPad` COUNTER-voice answering the celesta in long tones a third/sixth away (the cave choir, a real second instrument — not the lead doubled) AND a second caveCelesta answer a fifth/octave above filling the field between phrases. The chorus gets fuller. Danger (correction 2) is the wind rising, rendered abstractly and fully diatonically, with the WIND SPEED as a faster danger-section tempo (86 BPM). danger1 (ch8-9) is the approach: one over-blown airVoice swelling (more breath, a shade sharp via finetune detune) over a low draft-pressure drone (the retired infrasonic 'Depth' intent folded into a PITCHED, authored sub swell — not a bed) with a far gust shove — real material, the wind gathering. danger2 (ch10-11) is the wind staggering you, a GENUINE intensity jump for active fight/flee: a dense, driving over-blown air+choir gale swell that BENDS slightly UP within the mode (portamento up, effect 1xx riding the held tone — the pipe overdriving sharp), plus gust SHOVES (`gustStab` one-shots) hitting like the wind knocking you, in a driving rhythm with grit ticking off the walls between. New material and far higher density at the faster tempo, NOT danger1 with the fader up. The only noise is those struck gust one-shots. This concept is standalone (§7.7): the cave is the soloist, the celesta only duets with it — no shared motif is quoted. Fully diatonic E mixolydian throughout (the b7 (D) is the cave's modal colour, not chromaticism); zero chromatic shadow tones.
