# Flats Mirror v3b — Two Skies (D lydian, inversion canon, kit danger) `flats-mirror-v3b` — levels: `calm.mp3` · `activity1.mp3` · `activity2.mp3` · `danger1.mp3` · `danger2.mp3` Take B is the BOLDER reading of flats-mirror — 'Two Skies'. Where the faithful take walks one low celesta line and lets a high inverted echo ANSWER it after a delay, this take makes the mirror a literal CANON BY INVERSION across the waterline (the tonic D): two equal melodic voices sound at once, reflected through D — the caveCelesta SKY voice above and the struckPiano WATER voice (tone WARM, the re-spin's piano fix; warm reads as the grounded, struck reflection under the glass) playing its exact diatonic inversion below. They cross at D every phrase — the instant sky and water meet. The orchestration thesis is taken total: EVERY bed voice is doubled an octave below at half volume — two real voices (a sky pad and the sub), each with its own sub-octave shadow channel of the same shape (that sameness IS the mirror). Activity L1 (ch4-5) is the inversion canon itself (sky celesta + water piano, the exact mirror, crossing at the tonic). Activity L2 (ch6-7) ADDS NEW material, not volume: a glassBell halo struck ONLY at the crossing points (where the two voices coincide on the axis degree — the seam of the mirror, sharpened by rain) plus a slow softPad inner counter-pedal on the chord's inner tone. Danger L1 (ch8-9) is the approach (real material, not near-silence): a darkening D/A horizon drone with paired deepBooms, each strike answered two rows later by a sub-octave SHADOW boom — thunder above and its reflection below, two of everything closing in (the doubling itself is the dread). Danger L2 (ch10-11) is a GENUINE intensity jump for active fight/flee: a faster danger-SECTION tempo (96 BPM vs 62) where the kit crashes in — a doubled kick pulse + urgent shaker (ch11) and an off-grid snare backbeat + closer boom pairs (ch10), both halves of the sky slamming shut. New rhythmic instruments and a real tempo jump, NOT danger1 with the fader up. Dread is abstract (register, density, the doubling turning oppressive, the tempo jump) — never a literal storm/rain/water foley, which belongs to the game's SFX. Fully diatonic D lydian: the #4 (G#) is a glint inside the line, not a hook, and the only deliberate color is the mirror inversion — diatonic by construction (`invert` stays in the mode).
